Intercultural Suicide Prevention Evaluation Project

(1996)

The evaluation was funded by the Department of Canada Heritage: Multiculturalism Program. The evaluation served to identify views of project participants in regards to:

1) Interaction between Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers and Suicide Prevention Training Program as they worked together to implement the suicide prevention workshops for Polish and Latin American communities in Calgary;

2) Content and process of workshops which aimed to enable the 2 communities to address issues around suicide in Calgary

3) Impact of the workshops on the two immigrant populations in Calgary.

Qualitative research methodology was used to gather data from workshop developers and workshop participants.
