Calgary Drug Treatment Court

Evaluation

(December 2006 – Present)

Like other drug treatment courts in Canada, the Calgary Drug Treatment Court (CDTC), is intended to provide an alternative approach to working with non-violent offenders charged with offenses directly or indirectly related to drug addiction.  The evaluation documents the program’s activities, development, and outcomes; identify challenges and opportunities for continuous improvement; assess short-term and long-term effectiveness, as well as the mechanisms that might account for observed outcomes; and, evaluate the costs of the program in relationship to the social cost savings.
