Start Smart, Stay Safe (S4) Evaluation
(April 2011 – September 2013)
Start Smart Stay Safe (S4) project brings the Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD), Calgary Board of Education (CBE) and Mount Royal University (MRU) to work in collaboration with the Calgary Police Service (CPS). Together, the four partnering organizations support children in 15 CCSD and CBE schools and their parents to strengthen parental (family) capacity to prevent the involvement of children in offending behaviour and crime, through focus on resilience and strengths-based education. The evaluation methods include developmental evaluation approaches intended to document project development and lessons learned, outcome evaluation to measure the effectiveness of the project materials and services as well as the Social Return on Investment Analysis.
